Comfort Zones

Comfort zones are great. Everyone needs a retreat from time to time. You’ve got a happy place – maybe the beach, maybe curled up in the bed with a good book. Maybe it’s not a place – it’s your mom’s homemade dinner. Whatever it is, identify your comfort zone. Keeping to yourself a party, staying at an average job, passing up a date. What would it look like to step outside of that zone?

Everyday is a chance to step outside of your comfort zone and do something that challenges you. It could be simply saying hi to someone you usually don’t talk to, or it could be as big as asking for a raise. Personal growth happens when we take risks. It’s like working out. If you run a mile every single time, you’re only ever going to be able to run a mile. It’s not comfortable to run two miles at first. But eventually after you step outside of the one mile zone, it will be.

If you stay in the same place, you’re never going anywhere, so let’s get going. “A comfort zone is a beautiful place, but nothing ever grows there”.
